Xinyi Ge is from China. She considers herself a “forever student,” eager to build on my academic foundations in interior design and stay in tune with the best communication strategies through continued learning. Looking forward, she aims to help people improve their living environment in a space with limited resources, especially with global population growth and space scarcity. She will provide unlimited possibilities to express creatively, maximize imagination, and have innovative design ideas. She aspires to work on projects that contribute positively to society.
Xinyi’s capstone project is a reuse project, transforming the factory into a contemporary art museum in east London. The layout of the existing columns is based on a grid system, which is unique and creates rigid and serious feelings. The goal is to hack the grid system using the strategy of adding more columns and changing the columns’ shapes to create different spatial experiences.
