I am Huanyu Zhang, born in China. I majored in interior design in university. I like to use narrative spatial design in space design to complete the design scheme. I like to understand the unique history of the site, the story of the site, and to personalise the design. I also enjoy using critical thinking to think through design issues and continue to develop them. In particular, contemporary design is concerned with issues such as environmental protection and sustainability.
In this year’s study of super Matter, I have come into contact with a lot of materials, both popular and special, and explored the possibilities of materials, which have enriched my knowledge.
How do outdoor paths collide with indoor spaces?
The aim of the project is to reclaim East London’s lost street culture. Using street vendors as a vehicle for street culture, a second hand market was created to help them sell their second hand things more successfully. Through the combination of street culture, scaffolding, trolleys and AI/mid journey to create an device that displays the second hand things and creates a sense of ambience of the street in the interior space.
I really like the unrestrained and divergent design inspiration. In this year’s design project, I got the biggest harvest is the use of AI to assist the design. By typing an idea into the AI to get strange images and inspire new ideas.
